Network attached storage
Hi guys, I have a Netgear DB104 10/100 network starter kit that I have been using without any problems for years. I recently reformatted my Win98 PC and stupidly didn't check all the drivers before doing it. Now, I am unable to find the disk that was supplied with the network adaptors. The thing is, Netgear don't

Netgear Drivers (410)?
I opted to try the Netgear drivers since Netgear claimed their card worked under WinXP and they supported XP. (USR's claimed *their* drivers also worked under XP but admitted they were "beta" so no guarantees). To install the Netgear drivers, I just un-installed the USR drivers and purged them from my laptop.

Incorrect Network Card Detection
I have been able to reproduce the problem with v1.30 and v1.80 of the NetGear drivers, and v5.0.119.0 and v5.0.124.0 of the National Semiconductor drivers. I have also confirmed this problem with numerous other people world wide. For anyone interestd in the root cause of the problem, it is due to a limitation of

NetGear drivers?
Upon further examination, I discovered these problems were due to a flaw in the drivers for the NetGear FA311 / FA312 NICs, and in the reference drivers I have been able to reproduce the problem with v1.30 and v1.80 of the NetGear drivers, and v5.0.119.0 and v5.0.124.0 of the National Semiconductor drivers.
